The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine works to improve anesthetic procedures and pain management for patients in cardiology, obstetrics, and pediatrics, as well as across the care spectrum. The department offers the following specialized services: anesthesia administration in all subspecialties (critical care); diagnosis of acute and chronic pain syndromes; injections and nerve blocks; obstetric epidural anesthesia; medical management of painful conditions; preoperative medical evaluations; and perioperative pain management.
